I was born and raised in Austin, TX. Austin is known for many things, one of which is that it is the self-proclaimed “Music Capital Of The World.” One thing that prides most Austinites is that on any day of the week, you can catch a good show.

The Washington Post has an article about how Austin’s Katrina influx is bringing a large and diverse jazz (and black) community. I’ve been enjoying jazz for a few years, so maybe I should pick up a Chronicle and see if there are any good shows coming through around the holiday vacation.
