Cell Phone Replacement
So sunshine and I are looking to replace our cellphone. Her contract ran out a while back and I’m kinda tired of the phone and T-Mobile. I refuse to go to Cingular purely because of principle; SBC is on evil company and their remarriage to AT&T should be outlawed.
Any one have any recommendations? I was eyeing Verizon for their unlimited incoming calls which is probably how most calls will be made.

No matter what provider you choose you’ll love something about them and hate everything else. We use Sprint since most of Steph’s family has Sprint as does a majority of mine. I think all providers now have the “free calls to our customers” plan so take your pick.
Can you elaborate on Cingular’s principle? My cell phone contract should be expired already and I’m also looking for a cell phone. Isn’t Cingular the one with roll-over minutes? That’s a good feature.
Each cell phone compa has it’ts ups and downs. I think the most important thing you need to research on is the signal quality and coverage of the service in your area. I have sprint and it works good in San Antonio, but in Houston T-Mobile signals are better. T-Mobiles signals aren’t that good in San Antonio. You’ll need to research what service gives the best signals in your area.
If you look at customer service ratings from Consumer Reports Verizon gets top marks. I personally don’t like them since their lack of options with “new phones” like the Razr and Blade phones for Cingular/T-Mobile and sprint respectively.
Like Jokerr said, no matter who you end up with there will be things you like and things you dislike. Tally another Sprint customer though ~ I like ‘em enough to re-up with ‘em. I want that Blade phone. :-)
rainman, which plan did you re-up with?
I haven’t re-signed with Sprint yet. I’ll have to examine where I can use my phone and try and get a plan to suit me best. I am going to stick with Sprint, all in all they have been a good provider of service
Okay, then what plan do you currently have?
I’m trying to get a feeling for the different companies and different plans people use. What does everyone use? How do you like what you use?
